Dear Pasco K-8 Families,

We’re kicking off November with our AR Book Launch on November 2! Please make 20 minutes of reading each night part of your family’s routine. Reading regularly builds vocabulary, strengthens comprehension, and helps children grow into confident readers. Ask your child what they are reading and invite them to share their favorite part!

Our AR: Booked for a Treat! incentive adds to the excitement. Students who read a book and pass the AR quiz receive a ticket to redeem for a treat during Thursday lunches.

Boys' soccer and girls. basketball seasons begin this week! We look forward to cheering on our Pirates as they demonstrate teamwork, dedication, and school pride.

Join us for the Great American Teach-In on Wednesday, November 18, from 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.! Parents, business owners, and community members are invited to share their careers with our Pirates. Participate in one session or stay for the day! Scan the flyer’s QR code to sign up, or contact Marcella Eguia, Shelby Mander, or Jenny Borders for more information.

November also brings several important events:

  • November 2: Kirkland Ranch Academy of Innovation visits our eighth graders.

  • November 4: Picture makeups.

  • November 6: Athletics field trip to Saint Leo University.

  • November 9–19: i-Ready middle-of-year assessments for grades 1–5. Encourage your child to take their time and show what they know.

  • November 18: 6th Grade Field Trip to Ice

  • November 18: Great American Teach-In.

  • November 19: All Pro Dad

  • November 20: Progress Reports and our Turkey Trot!

During Pirates Give Thanks! Gratitude Week, November 16–20, students can stop by our lunchtime gratitude station to write a thank-you note to a teacher, friend, or staff member who makes their school day better. A little gratitude can make a big difference!

Our Turkey Trot on November 20 combines fitness, school spirit, and fundraising for Pasco K–8. Students will have 45 minutes to walk as many laps as possible around the upper-campus track, approximately ¼ mile per lap. Before the event, students can collect pledges from family and friends—either an amount per lap or a flat donation.

Thank you for supporting reading at home, encouraging kindness, and show gratitude.

Sincerely,
Dr. Rudolph-Fladd
